January Severe Weather for Dixie Alley!

User Rating: / 1
PoorBest

These next couple days the threat of severe weather returns to Dixie Alley. The Storm Prediction Center has issued Slight Risk areas for both tomorrow and Sunday.(See Below) Tomorrow the severe weather will be mainly focused from Alabama eastward to South Carolina. The main threat of severe weather will be damaging winds and hail, although a few isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Then, on Sunday, the threat will shift into the Tennessee Valey/Ozarks region. The threat on Sunday will be more widespread it appears after looking at the lastes NAM models. There is also a chance that on Monday the threat may continue, but the GFS and EMCWF models are at odds with each other, so the predictability is too low at this time to issue a risk area for Monday. Be sure to watch all the live storm chasing streams through our streaming provider ChaserTV. We will be posting further updates as warranted and the Nowcasting thread in the forum will have all the latest weather watches, warnings, and statements. The Storm Outlook page will also have the latest severe weather risk maps. Stay tuned for further updates from EWV on this developing storm system!
