Severe Weather Is The Pre-thanksgiving Appetizer
Here we are, November 21,2011; it's just a few days before Thanksgiving and severe weather is on the menu tomorrow for much of the Southeast up to the Ohio Valley. The first tornado watch has just been issued in parts of SE Oklahoma and much of Central Arkansas. Tomorrow we will see the severe threat expand from Southern Ohio South-Southwestward to Eastern Texas. A QLCS appears likely to form by midday and will move eastward throughout the day. A few isolated cells out ahead of the QLCS will also be possible. The most favorable atmosphere will be from Tenessee SW into Mississippi and Alabama. This area will have CAPE values at or around 1,500J. This will be supportive for supercells and bow segments in the QLCS. The threat should diminish further to the east. Here is the categorial risk for tomorrow. We'll be streaming on the LIVE VIDEO page so be sure to check out all the action!
